HARRIS, BURPEE H. - 1925 - 2012 - Miramichi - Burpee Hayward Harris, husband of Theresa Harris, of the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home, Miramichi, and formerly of North Napan Road, Napan, passed away at his residence, on Monday, November 19, 2012, at the age of 84. Born in Glenwood, on October 19, 1925, he was the son of the late William and Katherine (MacDonald) Harris. He was a former caretaker for the Heritage Acres Apartments, Miramichi, and an adherent of St. Stephen’s United Church, Black River Bridge, N.B. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Theresa Duplessis; four daughters, Nancy Brown, of Swan River, AB, Cindy Harris, of Oromocto, Michelle Harris (Brian), of Miramichi, Rachel Crawford (Terry), of Miramichi; two sons, Ashley Harris (Nicole) and Noel Harris (Cheryl), all of Miramichi; two sisters, Ruby Taylor (Stan) and Doris Harris, all of Miramichi; one brother, John Harris, of Miramichi; nineteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Ethel Harris and Hazel Bucket; five brothers, Doug, Hiram, Willard, Tom and Fred Harris.
Visiting will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Stephen’s United Church, on Thursday, November 22, 2012, at 2 pm, conducted by Penny Postlethwaite. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery, Black River Bridge. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Miramichi Chapter of the Alzheimer Society or the N.B. Heart & Stroke Foundation, would be appreciated by the family.
