With much sadness, the family of Onslow (Woody) Hicks, age 86, of River Hebert announce his sudden passing at his home on Friday, November 23, 2012.
Born in Maccan, NS, he was a son of the late Maynard and Nellie (Hicks) Hicks of Midgic, NB.
During his life, he worked as a woodsman. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and spent countless hours at the beach with his loving wife and children. He also loved playing cards, darts and listening to Alan Jackson.
The last surviving member of several brothers and sisters, he will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Doris (Tootsie), daughters, Susan, Christina (Luc Castonguay) and Beverly (James Fenton) all of Amherst; sons, James (Darlene) of Lower Maccan, Larry, Amherst and Paul and Dougie, both of River Hebert, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and his family pet Buttons.
Onslow's remains have been entrusted into the care of the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst from where a private family time of remembrance will be held at a later date.
