Theodore Fowlie

FOWLIE, THEODORE F. - 1921 - 2012 - Miramichi - Theodore (Ted) Frederick Fowlie, husband of Alberta L. (Bertie) Fowlie, of the Little Branch Road, Black River Bridge, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Sunday, December 2, 2012, at the age of 91. Born in Newcastle, on November 21, 1921, he was the son of the late Frederick F. and Minnie C. (Williston) Fowlie. He was a dairy farmer, inducted into the Dairy Hall of Fame, in 1992; a Director of the Northumberland Co-Op and the first producer to ship fluid milk to Northumberland Co-Op; a former Director of the N.B. Milk Marketing Board (1976-1987) and a founding member of the North-East regional board; a member of the Agricultural Society for 45 years.; Settler of Dairy Farmers Trust and Director of Agcom Ltd.; Vice President of Miramichi local milk committee; Past President of the Miramichi Soil & Crop Improvement Assoc.; Instrumental in development of local 4-H program; Life Member of NB Federation of Agriculture Inc. (1994); Member of the School Board (1954-59); a member of St. Stephen’s United Church (55 yrs), Black River Bridge; a member of the church choir and an original member of the men’s quartet; a former chairman of the Board of Stewards (28 yrs); a member of the Miramichi Chapter of the Highland Society; a founding member of the Miramichi Fiddlers. He is survived by his wife, the former Alberta L. Lewis; seven daughters, Carolyn Jenkins (Michael), of Saint John, Sharon Adams (Rick), of Miramichi Bay, Margaret Holland, of Calgary, AB, Lynda Adams (Garth), of Calgary, AB, Patti Fowlie, of Saint John, Debby Manuel (Jean-Rene), of Black River Bridge, Trudy Fowlie, of Moncton; four sons, David (Diane), of Calgary, AB, Ralph (Peggy), of Black River Bridge, Gary, of Calgary, AB, Kevin (Jolaine), of Black River Bridge; twenty-three grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren. He was predeceased by one sister, Patricia Williston.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Tuesday, from 7 to 9 pm and Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from St. Stephen’s United Church, Black River Bridge, on Thursday, December 6, 2012, at 2 pm, conducted by Penny Postlethwaite. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the C.N.I.B., the N.B. Lung Assoc. or the Extra Mural Nursing Program would be appreciated by the family.
