Lloyd James Britten, 85, of Bridgewater formerly from Sydney, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born in D'escouse N.S., he was the son of the late James and Clara (Sampson) Britten.
Lloyd is survived by his sons, Mike (Valerie), Big Pond, Matt (Shelley), Bridgewater, Lowell, Bridgewater, Frank (Carol Ann) Fredericton, N.B.; sister, Joan Pourier, Port Hawkesbury; brother, Bernie (Elsie), Sydney; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mathilda; sister, Eula Sampson; brothers, Elmer and Clem.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of C.F. Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 in T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel, Sydney. Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2012 in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 40 Cabot St., Sydney, Fr. Jim Oliver officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
No flowers by request. Memorial donations in Lloyd’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Kidney Foundation.
