John Kosec passed away on Dec. 5, 2012, at his residence at the Village of Wentworth Heights following a brave struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. John was born on Sept. 14, 1931, in Springhill, N.S. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Joan (Morrison), and children Barbara (Gary) Hinz and Ellen (Don) Cressy and grandchidren Sarah (Greg) Parkes, David (Carol) Hinz, Shane Cressey (Jacqueline) and Abigail Cressy (Hoas) and great-grandsons Noah Parkes and Cole Parkes as well as nephew Bob Koharski. John was predecease by his parents John and Annie Kosec and sister Ann. John worked for Stanley Works of Canada and was the long-time owner of Quality Radio and TV (retiring in 2000). He and Joan faithfully attendedWest Highland Baptist Church. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, Dec. 7, from 2–5 p.m. in the chapel at Cresmount Funeral Home (322 Fennell Ave E.). A private family service and interment will take place at a later date. Arrangements are in care of the Cresmount Funeral Home, Hamilton, Ont.
