Helen June Gray (nee Paynter)
Born at Spring Brook, P.E.I., April 6, 1934 and passed away after a lengthy illness, on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga, Ontario, in her 78th year.
Loving wife of 55 years to husband, Cyril; mother to Allan Reid and Harold Dean; with 3 lovely grandchildren. "June" was a daughter from a well-known family, parents, Charles B. Paynter and Florence Paynter (nee Adams); and sister to Roland, Thelma, Arthur, Paul and twin brother, Harold, all of whom predeceased her; and she leaves many loving nieces and nephews and friends in P.E.I. and beyond.
June retired from Mississauga Golf Club, after a lengthy career but also very active in many other communities, at Halifax, UNB at Fredericton, N.B., Moncton and St. John's, NL, where she was also well known and loved.
Private family service will be held Saturday at Mississauga with cremation to follow. A future memorial service is under active planning and not concluded.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
