On Thursday, December 13, 2012, Joseph Garay of Kamloops passed away at the age of 76. He was born in Princeton, BC on February 22, 1936 to John and Mary Garay.

He is survived by his six children Marianne (Ross) Pettigrew of New Zealand, Joe Garay of Fernie, Sandra (Carl) Ryan of Okotoks, Cathy Garay of Kamloops, Darlene Garay of Kamloops and David (Jackie) Garay of Calgary, and grandchildren Olivia and Fraser Pettigrew of New Zealand, Brandon and Madison Ryan of Okotoks, Kayleigh Bosnick of Delta, Bodhi Ridsdale of Kamloops, Faith and Grace Garay of Calgary.

He also leaves to cherish his memory his brother John (Sylvia) Garay of Kamloops and Lou Garay of Squamish.

Joseph was predeceased by his wife Marion Garay on September 1, 2012, three sisters and one brother.

Joseph came with his family to Kamloops in 1940 and spent the rest of his life here. Dad worked for CNR Via Rail from February 4, 1964 to October 31, 1995.

Monsignor Jerry Desmond will celebrate the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.
