Douglas Wood
WOOD, DOUGLAS HAROLD (1928-2012) - It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Douglas (Doug) Harold Wood who died peacefully on the evening of Friday, December 14th, at the Kenneth E. Spencer Nursing Home. A lifelong resident of Moncton, Doug was employed as an insurance adjuster with the CNR and caretaker at the Wesley Memorial United Church and as a maintenance technician at the Moncton Times & Transcript. Doug was an avid hockey fan who served as a volunteer fireman on the Salvage Corps for the City of Moncton for many years. He was also a member of the Canadian Order of Foresters and sat on the board of directors for the Wesley Memorial Church. Doug is survived by his wife Violet (née MacDonald) son Gordon, daughters Margaret and Nancy, sister Sybill Hazelwood of Toronto and several nieces, nephews, grand- and great grandchildren. A special heartfelt thanks to the exceptional staff at the Kenneth Spencer Nursing Home for their kindness and wonderful care they provided for Doug.
A private family service will be held. Condolences are greatly appreciated.
