Evans Geldart
GELDART, EVANS CLINTON - Evans Clinton Geldart, 93, of Petitcodiac, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on December 15, 2012. Born in Prosser Brook on April 22, 1919, he was a son of the late Roy and Minnie (nee Murray) Geldart. Evans served in the Royal Canadian Army with the 25th Regiment during WWII. He was a lumberman most of his life, and also worked as Road Commissioner from 1963 to 1970. He was a member of the Petitcodiac United Baptist Church. Evans is survived by his wife, Myrtle Geldart (nee Keith) of Petitcodiac; his daughter, Doreen Thorne (Deverne) of Petitcodiac; his son, Robin Geldart (Ruby) of Forest Glen; his sister, Margaret Reeder of Borden, PEI; his grandchildren: Bruce Thorne (Audrey), Deanna Smith (Jeff), Heather Mann (Trevor), Patty Elias (Danny), Mark Geldart, and Adam Geldart (Tanya); his great-grandchildren: Benjamin Thorne, Ali and Heath Mann, Nicholas and Lucas Smith, Quentin and Lilah Geldart; as well as by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents, Evans was predeceased by his sisters: Mary Mitton, Helen Ross, and Muriel Beaman, and a sister in infancy; his brothers: Don, Eldon, Guy, William, and Marven.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Armstrong’s Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac, from where visitation will be held on Monday, December 17, 2012 from 6 to 9 pm; and the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 2:30 pm with Rev. David Woodworth and Rev. Rick Thomas presiding. Interment will be held in Maplewood Cemetery.
