It is with deep sadness that we must announce the unexpected passing of Percy Hicks, age 87, of Midgic.
Percy passed away peacefully at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Thursday, December 13, 2012.
Born in Midgic, he was a son of the late Richard and Ethel (Maxwell) Hicks.
Percy worked at the Midgic Post Office, and as a custodian at Mount Allison University. He was the organist of the Midgic Baptist Church for many many years.
He will be dearly missed by his sisters Irene Estabrooks, Port Elgin and Myrna Hicks (Silas Stiles), Midgic; special friend Gloria Beal, Sackville; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by siblings Winslow Hicks and Ina Wheaton.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (506-364-1300) where visiting hours were held on Saturday, Dec. 15, from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will took place from the Midgic Baptist Church on Sunday, December 16, 2012, at 2 p.m., Pastor Hal Lowther officiating, with burial in the Midgic Cemetery.
