
James Blakney
BLAKNEY, JAMES HERBERT LEA - 1937 - 2012 - The death of James Herbert Lea Blakney, 75, of Sackville occurred suddenly on Wednesday, December 26, 2012. Born in Coverdale, NB, James was a son of Abel and Laura (Steeves) Blakney. James was a long standing member, and currently a trustee of the Wood Point Baptist Church. He was a former employee of the Westmorland Institute, and an avid farmer. He will be sadly missed by two sons, Lorne (Lise), Wood Point, NB and Lea (Melinda), Florenceville, NB; a daughter, Ruth Ann (Bob) Meunier, of Quispamsis, NB; eight grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher (Amanda), Brittany, Kristin, Robin, Erica, Ryan and Kim; four great grandchildren, Isabella, Parvati, Abagail, and Bentley; step-son, Justin (Angela), of Sackville; two sisters, Audrey (George) Horsman, of Moncton and Yvonne (late Boyd) Bembridge, of Wood Point; two brothers, Peter (Muriel) of Riverview and Charles (Sandra) of Moncton; sisters-in-law, Melda, Judy, and Joan; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, James was predeceased by his first wife Ruth (Blakney); his second wife Donna (Smith); sisters, Ruby (late Ron) Hurley and Kathy Blakney, as well as six brothers, Ted, Lloyd (Tim), Doug, Perley, Lawrence, and Paul.
Arrangements for James are under the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300) from where visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Friday, December 28, 2012. A funeral service will be held at 3 pm from the funeral home on Saturday, December 29, 2012. Pastor Ryan Skaling officiating.
