Pius Bernard Burke

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of their brother and uncle, Pius Burke.
Born in Lingan, he was the son of the late Felix and Henrietta (Langley) Burke.
Pius had worked at the Halifax Infirmary for many years, belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Halifax, being Vice Supreme Master.
He is survived by sisters, Pearl I. MacIssac, Hazel Musial; brothers, Ray (Theresa) Burke and Stan Eksal; several nieces, nephews and cousins and special niece Patricia (Brian) Brown, whom he resided with.
Besides his parents, Pius was also predeceased by brothers, Tony, Stan, sisters, Frances Kelly, Mabel McSavaney, Yvonne MacNeil and Violet Eksal.
As per his request cremation has taken place and a chapel service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at 2 p.m. with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating followed by burial in family plot, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lingan.
Arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500.
