POTTER: Anthony "Tony" Potter, age 83 years of Swift Current, SK passed away December 29, 2012 at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK. A Celebration of life service took place on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Eagles Hall in Swift Current. The honorary Pallbearers were all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Tony is survived by his loving wife Sheila Potter; children: Elizabeth (Dave), Malcolm, Terry (M.J.), Danny (Jennifer), David (Connie), Dawn (Dave), Diana (Jeff); fifteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren; a sister Stella Nicol and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents: Cecil and Margarite; brothers: Fred, Jack, Peter; sisters: Margaret, Nora, Poppy and Ruby. Tony was born June 8, 1929 at Dormansland, Surrey, England. Tony attended school in England and immigrated to Canada in 1963. He was united in marriage to Sheila Unrau, November 4, 1968 in Swift Current. Tony was employed by Sage Oilfield Services, C.P.R., Mobile Paving, IPSCO, then he started his own business Double D Security, until his retirement. His special interests included: fishing, chess, collecting stamps, home improvements, supporting the NDP party, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Tony instilled a remarkable work ethic on his children, which carried over to his grandchildren. Tony adored his wife Sheila with all his heart. The family would like to thank the staff at Cypress Regional Hospital for the remarkable care Tony received. Memorial donations to the Charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
