Donations in Gerry’s memory can be made to Christ the Redeemer Catholic Parish Building Fund, Swift Current, SK. Gerry was a very quiet, even-tempered, people-person who took pride in everything he did. He was a marvellous giver of valuable advice. He enjoyed farming and gardening. He was an excellent mechanic and welder. Gerry loved hunting, fishing, and trapping. He had a one-man horse named Girly that only he could ride. He would take her rabbit hunting, rest his gun between her ears, and BHAM! Gerry married Alice Coupé in 1946 and they lived on the Coupé farm where they raised their six children. He also did a lot of commercial grain hauling into the states which is how he managed to buy his brand new 1954 GMC 3 ton of which he was so proud. Gerry was the first person around the R.M. of Wise Creek to discover gravel, which he sold and delivered to many different locations. In November of 1958, aiming for a light atop the Nordwick farmhouse, Gerry plowed snow from Frenchville to the Nordwick farm in order to open a trail to get Therese to the hospital for the delivery of Russel. Besides farming, Gerry drove a school bus for several years. For about 35 years, Gerry transformed into a snowbird, and headed for Arizona where he spent his leisure time playing Shuffleboard. He even played in the Saskatchewan National Shuffleboard Tournament for Canada and won second place! He enjoyed spending time with the little ones, his precious grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gerry married his second wife, Therese (Nordwick) on June 26, 1999. Gerry is survived by his wife, Therese; his six children, Louis (Dolores) [children Ronald, Lynette], Hélène(Alex) [children Darren(Jamie), Ryan], Albert [children Lynn, Rachel, Roxanne, Ron, Jennifer], Armand (Sandra) [Armand’s children Jeffrey, BJ, Trina], Roger (Terry) [children Charla, Sonia, Jacquelyn, Kira], and Roland; his step children, Russel (Rita) [children Michael, Willis], Tena (Bill) [children Duncan, Mackenzie]; his sisters, Thérèse, Germaine, and Marie; thirty-seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
