Carl Kennie
KENNIE, CARL EDWARD - 1929 - 2013 - Carl Edward Kennie, 83, of Forest Dale Home and formerly of New Horton, passed away peacefully on January 11th, 2013 at the Forest Dale Home with his family by his side. Carl was born in Waterside on February 20th, 1929 the son of the late Truman and Viola (Cahill) Kennie. Carl worked with NB Power for 39 years before his retirement. He loved his family very much and was so grateful to have a supportive and caring wife especially in his last years. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him. Carl enjoyed being in the outdoors but his main thing was getting around people and talking, about any subject. He wanted to keep up on what was going on in the community. Carl was the type of man that would do anything he could to help others and it didn't matter who you were, if you needed help he was willing to give it. He was a member of the New Horton Baptist Church serving as Deacon for several years and he was always making sure the church was looked after for Sunday services when he was able. He was a very faithful man. He will be remembered for his smile and for his caring ways. He is now receiving his rewards from his Heavenly Father. He will be deeply missed by his devoted wife and best friend, Joyce Kennie of New Horton; daughter, Norma Wortman (Gerald) of Lower Coverdale; sons, Orville Kennie of Harvey and Scott Kennie of New Horton; his precious granddaughters, Karen and Carla; sisters Doris Barbour of BC, Barbara Miller (Terry) of Saint John and Carolyn Kennie of Riverside-Albert; brother, Donald Kennie (Freda) of New Horton. He will also be missed by several nieces, nephews and by his church family and many neighbors and friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by sister, Helen Fisher.
He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Saturday, January 12th, 2012 from 2 to 4pm. The funeral service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Sunday, January 13th, 2013 at 2:00pm with Rev. Donald Oldford officiating. Interment will be in the Bayview Cemetery, Harvey, NB, in the spring. Family Flowers Only Please.
