Edgar Whalen - 83 years of Lumsden passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Brookfield Hospital. Predeceased by mother; Asseneth Butcher, father; Harry Whalen, grandmother; Lucy Whalen, sister; Priscilla Stagg and nephew; Dwayne Goodyear. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife; Millie, sons; Dennis (Janice) of Lumsden and Kevin (Diane) of Bonavista, daughters; Asseneth Stockley(William) of Lumsden and Judy Whalen(Tony) of St. John’s, brothers; Ford (Wanda), Bruce (Susan) all of Gander, Jack (Patsy), Gregory (Norma) and Morris (Lynn) all of Lumsden, brothers-in-law; Walter Goodyear (Linda), Samuel Goodyear (Elizabeth) and Gilbert Stagg all of Lumsden, sisters; Josephine (Howard Parsons), Emma (Manuel West) all of Lumsden and Shirley (Rene Parsons) of Gander, grandchildren; Elizabeth, Kristen (Peter), Dwayne, Gordon, Jessica and Courtney (Tim), great grandchildren; Aurora, Austin, Kacey, Randolph, Violet and Kinley, many nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends. Funeral service took place on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 from Wesley United Church, Lumsden with Rev. L. Bungay officiating. Interment followed from the United Church cemetery, Lumsden.
