ROBINSON, William Ivan “Bill” – 66, Londonderry, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, January 18, 2013, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre. Born June 2, 1946, in Westchester, he was a son of the late Whitman and Dora (Adams) Robinson. Bill’s career included Lafarge, Folly Lake, Latimer Construction and Department of Highways from where he retired in 1995 after a heart attack. Bill was a “jack-of-all-trades” and enjoyed tinkering around with his John Deere tractor, working on cars with Logan and woodworking in his shop making beautiful furniture that his family will cherish forever. He was also known as “the electrician with the best rates in town”. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Jennie Lynn (Singer); sons, Tracy (Tami) Robinson, Debert; Scott (Andrea) Robinson, Calgary, Alberta; grandchildren, Sarah, Logan, Grace, Claire; sisters, Minnie (Raymond) Hughes, Lepreau, New Brunswick; Brenda Robinson, Bass River; brothers, James “Jamie” (Diane) Robinson, Masstown; Frederick “Freddie” (Gail) Robinson, Oxford; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Special thanks are extended to Bill’s favourite doctor, Dr. Neil Bower, VON and Palliative Care nurses, Sue Gibbon and Ann McKim. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Bill’s family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2013. No flowers by request. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory to Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia are welcomed.
