Evelyn Jean DeBodt

STELLARTON – Evelyn Jean DeBodt, age 86 of 24 Emmanuel St., Stellarton, passed away on January 16th, 2013 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Stellarton she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Cecelia (MacDougall) Forrestall.
Evelyn was a lifelong resident of Stellarton. She worked for several local businesses over the years doing bookkeeping.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church.
Evelyn was an avid curler and also enjoyed travelling, dancing and skating.
She was a former member of the Stellar and Bluenose curling clubs.
Surviving are sons: Frank (Cynthia) DeBodt of Black Point; David (Stephanie) DeBodt of Moncton; a daughter, Katherine Horton of Stellarton; grandchildren: Nicole (Mike) Jodrey, Kathryn DeBodt, Lauren Debodt, Erin DeBodt, Christian (Deidre) DeBodt and Kristin Horton; great-grandchildren: Julia, Lily and Maelle Jodrey; a sister Eileen of Port Hawkesbury.
She was predeceased by her husband Arthur DeBodt and a son in infancy.
Cremation has taken place. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday at 11 a.m. from Our Lady of Lourdes Church, North Foord St., Stellarton with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Sister Catherine Steele Centre.
Donations in memory of Evelyn may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Fund, the ALS Foundation or to a charity of one’s choice.
The family would like to thank Dr. Fahim and the nurses in the ICU of the Aberdeen Hospital for their care and compassion.
