It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce passing of Edward White on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, with his family by his side.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of Samuel and Laura Jane (Thistle) White.
He enjoyed the simple things in life, being home, enjoying a beer with friends, playing the guitar and going to the old homestead to reminisce his childhood memories.
Edward is survived by his wife, Diane (Penny); his children, Pearl White, Ottawa, Edna (Ricky) Burgess, Louisbourg, Edward, Louisbourg, Winston, and Scott both of Catalone; grandchildren, John Edward, Jolene, David, Melissa, Brian, Chrissy, Natalie, Miranda, Patty, R.J. Ainsley, Justin, Jordon, and Aunjae; many great-grandchildren; his sister, Mary Peters, Catalone, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his three sons, David, Darren, and Thomas; four sisters, Lucy Mae French, Cecilia Parsons, Pearl Dicks, and Rhoda Campbell.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
