GILLIES-HIGGINS, HEATHER JEAN - 1941 - 2013 - Heather Jean Gillies-Higgins, 71, of Cape Brule, passed away January 15, 2013 at her residence. Born on February 10, 1941 in Berwick, NS, she was the daughter of the late Talmadge (Tam) and Leona (Chapman) Gillies. Heather ran her own business in Moncton for several years and later worked for and retired from MAGMA. She enjoyed music, gardening and reading. She especially loved spending time with her nieces, nephews and their children. She is survived by her two sisters: Anne Young (David) of Cape-Brûlé and Lynne Brine (Bill) of Cape-Brûlé; several nieces and nephews: Lee, Bob, John, Jeff, Bonnie, Meghan and Jesse, as well as her partner, Arthur Smith. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert Higgins (2000) and a sister, Gail Griffith (2000).
By request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation and final arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral Center, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-5236).
