Alvin Dickson
DICKSON, ALVIN H. - 1922 - 2013 - Miramichi - Alvin Horace Dickson, husband of the late Kathleen C. Dickson, of Howe Residence, Harper Road, Miramichi and formerly of the South Napan Road, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Friday, January 25, 2013, at the age of 90. Born in Napan, on October 16, 1922, he was the son of the late Horace and Ethelinda (Gilliss) Dickson. He was a Dairy farmer; a former Board member of the Northumberland Co-Op; a former member of the N.B. Milk Marketing Board as well as the Dairy Town Board. He was Christian by Faith. He is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Taylor (Ron), of Keswick and Marlene Dickson, of Burnaby, B.C.; one son, Hugh Dickson (Colleen), of Napan; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Titus (Harrett), of London, Ont.; one daughter in law, Eva Dickson, of Orangeville, Ont.; one brother in law, Milton MacInnis (Betty), of Miramichi; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Kathleen MacInnis, in 2009; one son, Omar Dickson; two sisters, Muriel Lockerbie and Eurana Collins; five brothers, Oakley, Lee, Lorriston, Marcus, Ivan Dickson.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Monday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral service will be held from Adams Funeral Home Chapel, on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at 2 pm. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, later in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Pine Grove Cemetery Fund, or any charity of the donors’ choice, would be appreciated by the family.
