It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Eunice Mary (Burke) Penny on Jan. 25, 2013, at the Maple Hill Manor, New Waterford.
Born in Lingan, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Amanda (Kelly) Burke.
She was a devoted member of St. Joseph’s parish, Lingan, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, was an avid reader, but most of all she loved spending time on the Mira, a place that meant so much to her.
Eunice is survived by her sister-in-law, Christina Burke, New Waterford; special friend and nephew, Winston (Rhona) Burke, Lingan; as well as several other nieces and nephews, and many good friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Tony Burke and second husband, Joseph Penny, brothers, Clifford, Jack, Frank and Ignatius ‘Mishi’.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lingan, followed by a luncheon in the parish hall, Convent Street.
