It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Isaac Warren on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born Aug. 7, 1923, in Ramea, N.L., he was the son of the late Sarah (Keeping) and William Warren.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Isaac spent most of his life on the sea. He enjoyed spending time at his cottage in Catalone at the lake fishing, boating and working in the garden.
Isaac is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Edith (Carter) Warren; his four children, Bill (Mary-Lou), Vancouver Island, Rita (Jimmie) Price, Louisbourg, Ike Jr. (Germaine), Hammonds Plains, and Carter (Ivy), Windsor, N.S.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Shirley, grandson, Gregory Price, brothers, John, Garland, Matthew and Wilson, sisters, Dora Waters and Susan Walters.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at St. Bartholomew’s Church, Louisbourg, with Rev. Laura McCue officiating. Reception to follow in the church basement. A private family burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Bartholomew’s Cemetery Fund.
