Cyril Frederick Deveau, 48, of 14383 Cabot Trail, Cheticamp, passed away on Jan. 28, 2013.
Born in Cheticamp, he was a son of Annie Mae (LeBlanc) Deveau and the late Arthur Deveau.
Cyril was a devoted and caring community member. He sat on various boards of directors, including the Cheticamp Co-op, Acadian Credit Union and Le Conseil Coopératif Acadien de la N-É. He was also a member of KOC Council No. 3850. Cyril was a past member of Le Club Kinsmen de Cheticamp and the Cheticamp Volunteer Fire Department.
Cyril was known as a hard worker and his work was more than a job; it was a true passion for him. He was branch manager at Bluewave Energy and owner of Deveau’s Car Wash.
Loving husband, father and grandfather, Cyril was loved, respected and appreciated by not only his family but his large family of friends and also his Bluewave family.
He is survived by his wife, Paula Deveau; son, Waylon Deveau, Cheticamp; daughter, Shandel Deveau, Halifax; two brothers, Willie (Jeannine), Cheticamp, and Donald (Darlene), Lower Sackville; one sister, Jaqueline (Darrell) Timmons, Cheticamp; and one grandchild, Silas.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral mass will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter’s Church, Cheticamp. Interment in the parish cemetery.
No flowers please due to family allergies. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
