Passed peacefully away on January 29th, 2013 at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents William and Lucy Walsh, father and mother-in-law John J. and Mary A. Kenny, brothers Clarence and Raymond, sister Sr. Annette Walsh, and brother-in-law Aiden Nolander. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 43 years, Mary Walsh (nee Kenny); his sisters: Eileen (Nolander) and Sr. Lucia Walsh; brother-in-law Gordon Kenny (Margie); sisters-in-law: Stella Walsh (Raymond, deceased), Imelda Dunn (John, deceased), Marion Pittman (Jim), Anna Kenny, Margie Careen, and Doreen Carey (Lawrence). Michael also leaves to mourn 12 nieces, 14 nephews, 19 grand-nieces, and 12 grand-nephews. He was a special uncle to all and loved very much. Little grand-nephews Noah and Nate held a special place in his heart and loved to visit Uncle Mike and Aunt Mamie. He also leaves to mourn his good neighbors Billy and Sharon Walsh, and Ron and Uriel Murphy, who were always there for him when he needed them, as well as Francis Walsh who never forgot Michael when there was snow to shovel. Michael leaves to mourn the entire community of Calvert as well as surrounding communities on the shore, where he was well known for his jokes and recitations and concerts, but especially for his loving personality. Michael always had a smile for everyone and will be missed beyond words. Resting at Fahey’s Funeral Home, Fermeuse Visiting hours will be from 12 noon to 9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2nd. at Immaculate Conception Church, Calvert. Interment to follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Ferryland.
