CLEMENTS, T. E. “SAMMIE” (NEALES) - It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Sammie Clements of Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, January 30th, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born in Beaufort, NB she was the daughter of the late Claude and Clara (Scovil) Brooks and wife of the late Earle J. Clements. Sammie was a World War II Veteran serving in the Canadian Women’s Army Corps as a Sergeant Major from 1941 until 1945. She was also a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4. She is survived by her son, Richard Neales (Rena); granddaughters, Amy Dunn (Craig) and Heidi Carr (Andrew); great-granddaughters, Lily and Olivia Dunn; sisters-in-law, Pauline Brooks, Carolyn Brooks and Iris Neales; step-sons, Larry Clements (Karen) and Billy Clements (Luanna); step-daughter, Linda Davies (Robert) as well as step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Earle; brothers, Douglas and James Brooks and great-grandson, Phillip Carr.
Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home, 160 York Street (458-9170) on Saturday, February 2nd, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A memorial service will take place at the J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Monday, February 4th, 2013 at 11:00 am with The Rev. Canon John Cathcart officiating. Interment will be held in the St. Mary the Virgin Cemetery, New Maryland, NB at a later date.
