PRINGLE, GORDON JAMES - September 7, 1944 - February 3, 2013 - Peacefully, at home, in the arms of his loving wife Judy, with his cherished daughters Martha McFaul (John) and Emily Pringle-Shepard (Michael) and Clergy Ellie Barrington present. Amazing Grandpapa of Joseph, Andrew, Thomas and Monica McFaul and Grampy of Joshua and Daniel Shepard. Predeceased by his parents Alfred and Beth Pringle of Williamsburg, NB, sister Charlotte (Dale) Horncastle of Fredericton, NB, and brother Arthur (Alberta) Pringle of Bedeque, PE. Survived by his sister Margaret Flynn of Stanley, NB and his special cousin Doug (Nellie) Kerton of Fredericton, NB. Also survived by his brother-in-law Craig (Sharon) Stevens and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Gordon was a proud graduate of the University of New Brunswick and earned his Bachelor of Science (Geol) in ‘67 and Master of Science (Geol) in ‘71. Gordon was an avid birder, an active member of the Ottawa Field Naturalist Club and served for many years on many bird committees. He also chaired many community based committees for the Church, Muscular Dystrophy Association and the disabled community.
A celebration of Gordon’s life will be held at Trinity United Church, 1099 Maitland Ave., Ottawa on Saturday, February 9th at 11 am. Please note that the church is fully accessible and is a scent free building. Donations to the Trinity United Church (organ fund) for the restoration of the church’s Cassavant pipe organ that Gordon loved so much would be appreciated. Many thanks to Dr. Anil Jain, Dr. Gick, Dr. Hurdon, Michelle and the Nurses of At Home Hospice for their care. Gordon was deservedly loved, adored, respected and honoured.
