RICHARD, SHIRLEY MARIE - 1928 - 2013 - It is with great sadness that the family of Shirley Marie Richard, of the Residence O’Bon Soins formerly of Inglis Street, Shediac, announces her passing at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital, on Wednesday, February 6th, 2013 at the age of 84. Born in Moncton on February 25th, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Marie (Ouellette) Horan. Prior to her retirement she worked at the Shediac Lobster Shop. Shirley participated in many social activities but most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was an active member of the Club d’Âge d’Or and Club Boishébert of Shediac. She is survived by her three daughters: Suzanne Gallant (Sylvio) of Grande-Digue, Jeannette Surette (Antoine “Tony”) of Shediac and Kathy Curwin (Andrew) of Riverview; two sons: Michael of Shediac River and Terry (Natalie) of Memramcook; four sisters: Bernice Boudreau (Val) of Orléans, ON, Carole Spencer (late Reg) of Calgary, Ann Richard (Albert) of Shediac River and Connie Webb (Milton) of Dartmouth, NS; 10 grandchildren: Stéphanie, Serge, Jessica, Sophie, Melanie, Danielle, Jérémie, Sébastien, Brandon and Sébastien; three great-grandchildren: Jacob, Lexie and Austin; two sisters-in-law:Carmela Boudreau and Géraldine O’Brien both of Shediac; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Edmond Richard (1984); one brother, Ronald Horan; one sister, Dorothy Dupuis.
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297) on Sunday, February 10th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, and Monday, from 9:30 am until departure. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Joseph R.C. Church, Shediac, on Monday, February 11th at 10:30 am. In memory of Shirley, a contribution to the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick or the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital Foundation (Oncology) would be appreciated by the family.
