Mona Mabel (Dyke) (Cumby) LeDrew

Mona passed peacefully away on February 7, 2013 at the Carmelite House, Grand Falls Windsor. Mona was born in Millertown and moved to Grand Falls at an early age. Mona started her training as a Registered Nurse at the General Hospital School of Nursing in St. John’s, where she then raised her family and also later taught the Nursing Assistant Program. Later in life Mona married Terry LeDrew and they returned to Grand Falls-Windsor. Mona is predeceased by her parents Mabel and Ellis Cumby, first husband Maxwell Dyke, and second husband Terry LeDrew, brothers in law, Jerry and Ronald LeDrew and sisters in law Marguarite Saunders and Bea Bryant. Left to morn are daughter Lynda(Terry) O’Neill and their son Zachary (her bestest friend), her son Gregory (Alyssa) Dyke and their daughter Beatrix who reside in Surprise Arizona, step children Cindy (Kim) Veitarelli, Wade (Tracey) LeDrew, Trevor (Kristen) LeDrew, Janet LeDrew and grandchildren. As well as three brothers Eric (Isabel) Cumby, Eldon Cumby, and Kevin (Kate) Cumby. Brothers and Sisters in law Harris (Janice) Flight, Jean Haines, Doreen (Arch) Rice, Maude LeDrew, Hedley (Mary) LeDrew, Glenys (Lloyd) Yorko, Patsy (John) Jones, Joan (Bram) Butt. Also leaving to more lifetime friends June Jones, Izola Yetman, and Brenda Cooper and many loving nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Thank you to all the staff at the Carmelite House with special thanks to Kendra, Scelina, Sherry, Glynnis, Janice and Genevieve who took such great loving care with Mona. Also a thank you to Dr. K. Jim for all you did. Donations in her memory may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Mike Goodyear of Central Funeral Homes.
