Peacefully at Prince County Hospital on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, and surrounded by his loving family, of Leo Patrick Murphy of Summerset Manor, Summerside, and formerly of Searletown, aged 80 years.
Husband of Shirley Vera (nee Keough). Father of Paul (Leona), Searletown; Patsy (Dale Paynter), Borden-Carleton; Kevin (Barb), Searletown; David (Marilyn), Searletown; Judy (John Grady), Summerside; Marlene (Mike Brown) Ayr, Ontario; Lorna (Gordie Walsh), Borden-Carleton; Bobby (Krista), Searletown; Angie (Joe Gallant), St. Phillip; and Kenny (Kim), Emerald. Grandfather of Scott, Andy, Bethany, Patrick, Craig, Chad, Jeffrey, Shelby-Lynn, Colin, Mary-Lynn, Megan, Madison, Matthew, Sarah-Beth, Morgan, and Cameron. Also survived by great-grandchildren, Xander and Rohan Grady. Survived by brothers and sisters, Charlie Murphy, Charlottetown; Bertha (Albert MacEachern), Moncton, N.B.; Edna Quibell, Ontario; Florence Ross, Summerside; Millie (Charlie Dawson), Albany; Georgina Monaghan, Saint John; Harold Murphy, Summerside; and Art Murphy, Ontario.
Predeceased by triplets, Erma, Barbara and Albert; his parents, George Murphy and Margaret Murphy (nee Harrington); and brothers, Albert and Fr. Lou. Predeceased by in-laws, Edwin Keough and Clara Keough (Bernard).
Visiting hours will be at Kinkora Place (across from the church), on Thursday, February 14, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter's Church, Seven Mile Bay on Friday, February 15, at 10:30 a.m. Interment later in the parish cemetery.
Donations in Leo's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or St. Peter's Parish Cemetery Fund.
