Passed peacefully away on February 12th, 2013 at St. Luke’s Homes in the loving arms of his wife, Lucy and surrounded by his loving family and friends, Grayson Slade, aged 69 years. Grayson was born in Spencer’s Cove, Placentia Bay, NL and moved to St. John’s in the early 60’s. His career with Labatt Breweries of NL spanned a period of 30 years which began in quality control and he eventually moved into the position of brewmaster. Grayson is predeceased by his parents Thomas and Jessie Slade, and parents-in-law Abram and Hilda Bragg. Left with fond and loving memories his wife of 45 years, Lucy (Bragg); cherished daughter, Andrea and husband Mark Roberts of Santa Barbara, CA; sister Cynthia (Bob Hodder), Whitbourne NL; brothers-in-law: Kevin Bragg (Delena), Wasaga Beach, ON and Frank Bragg (Linda), Dartmouth N.S.; nieces and nephews: Leanne Hodder-Hanlon, Rob Hodder, Jamie Bragg, Christa Bragg-Purdy; and special great-nephew Evan Bragg, as well as other family and friends. Grayson will also be missed by his extended family at St. Luke’s Homes. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Thursday, February 14th, 2013 from 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m., Friday, February 15th, 2013 from 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 16th, 2013 from 11:00 a.m.-12 noon. Funeral service to take place from All Saint’s Anglican Church, Pouch Cove, on Saturday, February 16th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with cremation to follow.
