Sweeney, Gerald Edward - 70, of Cape Forchu, Yarmouth Co., passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013 in his home community. Born January 31, 1943 he was a son of the late Edward and Gladys (Watkins) Sweeney. Gerald was a Marine Engineer and was proud that he worked on the M.V Bluenose and Bay Ferries “Cat” for much of his career. He was a loving husband, father and brother who loved his family dearly. Gerald loved to stay in shape and was especially dedicated to fitness and sports. He is survived by his loving wife, Annette (Cottreau), Cape Forchu; son, Robert Muise, Arcadia; sister, Blanche (Arnold) Smith, Cape Forchu. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brother, George. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation took place Tuesday, February 19, from 7-9 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service was held Wednesday, February 20, at 10 a.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel Father John MacPherson officiating. Family flowers only.
