William Richard Adams passed away on February 16, 2013 at the Carmelite House, Grand Falls-Windsor at the age of 87. Mr. Adams was a member of the Lions Club. Predeceased by his parents, Maude & John Adams, sister Marion and brother Jack. Bill was born to Maude & John Adams at Grand Falls on December 11, 1925. He married Lucy Rideout on February 17, 1945. They raised five children Dorothy, Vera, Betty, David and Roy. He was the founder of Adams Construction Ltd. which became the parent company for a number of other companies. He was devoted to family and friends and his love for community was evidenced by his many contributions to churches, schools, sports and other organizations and projects to which he freely gave. As his health declined his independence never wavered and he still retained a strong interest in the business. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Lucy; sons David (Karen), Roy (Karen); daughters Dorothy (Leo) Kinsella, Vera (Arnold) Comeau and Betty (John) MacIntosh; also leaving to mourn sisters Joyce (Elmer) Carter, Dorothy Watson; sister-in-law Winnie; brother Roy (Katie); brother-in-law Pearce; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a circle of other relatives and friends. The funeral service took place from Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle, Bishop’s Falls on Monday, February 18, 2013 at 2:00 PM. Interment followed at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Bishop’s Falls. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home, Bishop’s Falls. Pallbearers were Freeman Rideout, Bob Mitchell, Gary Harnum, Craig MacIntosh, Tom Hynes and Darren Comeau.
