GRACE DOREEN RICHARDSON

GRACE DOREEN RICHARDSON

Born In: British Columbia, Canada

Passed in: British Columbia, Canada

(née Teichroeb)
January 20, 1934 - January 24, 2010

Grace passed away peacefully with family and friends at her side. She was in a safe and comfortable place, allowing her to die with dignity, which was her wish since she found out she had cancer.

Grace is survived by her loving husband, partner and best friend of 51 years, Halley, son Geoffrey (Diane), grandchildren Travis (Brooke), Megan (Peter) and Nicole (Simba), sisters Mary Dupasquier of Calgary, Marjorie Rey of Victoria, BC, Elsie Teichroeb of Stony Plain, Alberta and Dorothy Bailey of Winnipeg. Many nieces, nephews and friends will miss Grace for the true friend she was as well as "second mother" to many.

Grace was predeceased by her parents Henry and Eva Teichroeb, daughter Heidi, sisters Kay and Sue, and brothers Henry, Jake, Art, George and Bobby.

She will always be remembered for her devotion and loyalty to her husband and family. She found much enjoyment spending time and having "adventures" with her grand children. Grace and Halley could often be found at a poker table in Nevada, travelling across Canada and the Western States, at music festivals and enjoying any type of trip together. She also had a great passion for reading, crossword puzzles, shoes, clothes and make-up.

She was caring and compassionate and always concerned about the well being of all her family and friends. She was a good listener and always had time for everyone.

Many thanks to the RIH Emergency staff and the staff in 6 South. They cared. And our extreme gratitude to the Hospice staff for being so kind, gentle and caring to Grace and all her family and friends. An excellent place with excellent people.
And a special thanks to Dr. Chip Bantock who has been so good to Grace over the years and who was with her every step of the way. They had a special relationship.

There will be no formal service. A Celebration of Grace's Life will be held at a later date. Family and friends will be notified.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Grace's memory may be made to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice Home, 72 Whiteshield Cr. South, Kamloops, BC V2E 2S9.
