The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his family at the Community Hospital, O’Leary on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, of Valmont J. Gaudet of St. Edward aged 67 years. Beloved husband of Dianne Gaudet (nee Bernard). Valmont was born in St. Edward on Nov. 24, 1945, the son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Perry) Gaudet. Cherished father to Duane (Tammy) Gaudet and Janice (Bruce) Martin both of St. Edward. Loving grandfather to Jenna, Tanner, Braeden and Kendra. Dear brother to Anita (late Melvin) Perry, St. Edward; Bobby (Shirley) Gaudet, Summerside; Leona (late Harvey) Gallant, St. Louis; Ida (Cyril) Bernard; Eleanor (Roy) Hustler; Bernice (late Donnie) Arsenault and Christine (Billy) Shields all of St. Edward. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law Noreen Doucette; Clifford Bernard; Norma Arsenault, Adrian Bernard; Lucille Ellsworth and Madeline Perry. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Elizabeth, mother and father-in-law Joshua and Genevieve Bernard, nieces Juanita Bernard and Louise Perry, brothers-in-law Wilbert, Eddie and Benjamin in infancy Bernard. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road, for visiting hours Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. Funeral will be held Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, where funeral mass will be celebrated by Rev. Jacques Rigaud at 2 p.m. Cremated remains will be interred at a later date in the church cemetery. Memorial donations to the Cemetery Fund or Palliative Care Unit of the Community Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
