GRAHAM, DAVID WINSLOE - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of David W. Graham, at his home in Fredericton, NB on Sunday, February 24, 2013. In his ninetieth year. David was born in Winsloe, PEI, the son of the late Rev. Christopher and Ruth (Allen) Graham. David worked at Richards Electric for 16 years, 13 years at the Research Station and retiring in 1985 from the Department of Education. A member of Wilmot United Church, he was also Veteran of WWII serving overseas with the 4th Canadian Division. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4, the Fredericton Curling Club, Brunswick Street until their fire, then the Fredericton Golf and Curling Club, honorary member of Fredericton Lawn Bowling Club, and a volunteer Firefighter for 16 years. David was always successful at turning his hand to whatever he endeavored to take on, whether it be his Stained Glass Craftsmanship, a Jewellery Silversmith or an accomplished carpenter. Survived by his loving wife of 63 years Joyce (MacKay); daughters Elizabeth (Beth) Brewer (Owen) of Bathurst, NB and Nancy Denton (Allan) of Airdrie, AB; five grandchildren Angela, Katrina and Andrew Brewer (Dalene), Kimberly MacLean (Wesley) and their son Thatcher and Matthew Denton (Erin) and their daughter Madison; a sister Jean MacCannell of Oklahoma; a sister-in-law Margaret (Graham) Vachon; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Christopher “Kit” Graham.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Bishop’s Funeral Home from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 2:00 PM from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 will have a tribute service at 1:00 PM on Thursday from the funeral home. Interment will be held at a later date. For those who wish, the family suggests memorials to the NB Extra Mural or a charity of the donor’s choice.
