Marguerite MacLean passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, with her family by her side.
She was born in Big Bras d’Or on April 25, 1939. She was a member of St. James Church, Big Bras d’Or.
She resided in the United States until moving home in 1985.
She leaves behind to mourn her loving husband, Allen; son, Bobby; daughter, Janet (Joe) and five grandchildren, Marguerite (Ryan), Krista (Peter), Janet (Eric), Jozeph (Cathy) and Jakob. She also leaves behind her brother, James Campbell; sister, Sophie King; nieces, Edna, Marlene, Loretta and Mary and nephews, Kelvin and Jr.
Marguerite’s family would like to thank the staff of the Cape Breton Cancer Centre, the VON, palliative care personnel, the nurses at the Northside General Hospital, the Transport Services, and a special thank you to Dr. Knott. You are living proof of Angels on Earth.
A memorial service will be held in St. James Church, Big Bras d’Or, on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Peter MacDonald officiating. The interment will take place in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marguerite’s name may be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Centre.
