John 'Johnny' Martin Cass

With great sadness we the family, announce the passing of our father and brother John M. ‘Johnny’ Cass, 71, on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at the Northside Community Guest Home.
Born in North Sydney, he was the son of the late John A. and Hilda (Murphy) Cass.
Johnny was well known throughout the town and in his earlier years worked as a telegraph delivery boy and usher at the Odeon Theatre and later as a stevedore with CN Marine. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney.
Johnny is survived by his children, Margaret, Monica, Susan, Lloyd and Larry and also by his two sisters, Betty, Point Edward, and Rita, North Sydney, and brother, Jimmy, Peterborough, Ont., and his six grandchildren.
No visitation by request, cremation will take place. A private funeral service for Johnny, will be held in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney, with Rev Patrick O’Neill officiating. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Northside Community Guest Home or a charity of choice.
