GALLAGHER, RUTH - Ruth Florina Gallagher, wife of the late John Charles Gallagher, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 28th, 2013, at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born 1928 in Saint John, NB she was the daughter of the late Howard and Alice (Byron) Gallant. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by her brother Byron Gallant, her sister Constance Dryden, daughter Anne Louise Gallagher and grandson John Arthur Wilson. Ruth had worked for NB Tel and in the early 60’s established Able Window Shine with her sisters, Claire and Nancy. Ruth later worked in Financial Services at the DVA Hospital and at the Saint John Regional Hospital . She was a member of the Our Lady of Assumption Parish, CWL, and St. Vincent’s Alumnae. She will be sadly missed by her daughters Moira Wilson (Mark) of Saint John, Elizabeth “Beth” Fenwick (Mark) of Quispamsis and Colleen Baxter (Kirk) of Rothesay; cherished grandchildren Elizabeth, Michael, Stephen, Kevin, Andrew, Christopher, Scott, Adam and Luke; sisters Claire Collins of Saint John and Nancy McLaughlin (Bill) of Chapel Grove, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Sunday, March 3rd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of Assumption Church 360 Dufferin Row, on Monday March 4th, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.In lieu of flowers, remembrances in memory of Ruth made to the New Brunswick Association for Community Living or Rocmaura Foundation would be appreciated by the family. www.fundyfuneralhome.com
