Passed peacefully away on Wednesday, February 27, at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Emma Strickland, of Marystown, in her 94th year. Predeceased by husband Albert, daughter Blanche, great-granddaughter Hannah Miller & son-in-law Lawrence Mahoney. Leaving to mourn daughters: Clarice (Peter Buchanan) of Wolfville, NS, Barbara Mahoney of Mount Pearl, Donna & Jim May of Marystown, and Loretta & Wade Emberley of Marystown; 11 grandchildren & 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Blanche Garland of Mount Pearl and Pearl Best of Grand Bank; sister-in-law Evelyn Hunt of Milltown, plus a large circle of family and friends. The funeral service took place at St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Marystown, on Saturday, March 2, at 2:00 p.m. Interment followed at St. Michael’s Anglican Cemetery, Creston South. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Emmie’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Wiseman’s Funeral Homes – Marystown.
