Margaret McGrath

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother on March 1, 2013 at home, 11 days after her 90th birthday, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Born Feb. 19, 1923, Margaret was the daughter of the late Patrick and Sarah (Gallant) Burke.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Mom worked for a short time at the Cape Breton Vocational School but spent most of her life loving and caring for her children. Despite the hardships in her life with the loss of three children, she overcame this and remained a great mom to her remaining children.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Colleen MacIntyre, with whom she resided; daughter, Anne Gallant, Ontario; son, Cyril; special grandson, Stephen, who helped take such great care of his Grannie and brother, John Burke; two granddaughters, April and Rachelle and two great-granddaughters Olivia and Jessica.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Cyril; daughter, Sharon; sons, Wayne and Raymond; grandsons, Dwayne and Darren; son-in-law, Tony and sisters, Bridget, Catherine and Alice and brothers, Leonard and William.
Visitation for the late Mrs. McGrath will take place 1 hour prior to the funeral service on Monday, March 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. when service begins. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
