Judith Lynn Maracle (Huskins)

Born In: Liverpool, Nova Scotia

Judy Lynn (Huskins)
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we say farewell to Judy Lynn, our special “Valentine” sister. Judy slipped away peacefully at Emmanuel House with family by her side, after her courageous battle with cancer. Judy is survived by husband Les, brothers Kohler (Edith) and Frank (Anne) and treasured niece Astasia Lynn (Steve). Judy will be dearly missed by many relatives and friends, both near and far away. Judy was born in Liverpool, N.S. on Valentine’s Day and is pre- deceased by her parents William John Huskins and Vida Kohler Huskins. Our Judy would eventually face three open heart surgeries beginning at the young age of five, as well as breast cancer and knee surgery, facing them all with terrific strength and courage. A retired Stelco employee, Judy would especially enjoy her ball room dancing with Mary and Joe, her ’79 Camaro the “Little Lady”, the complete World of Disney and of course anything to do with “Elvis” (his biggest fan). Judy treasured her trips down to Nova Scotia, where she carved her lifelong bonds with Aunts’, Margaret Smith (Jordan Falls) and Beatrice “Biddy” Buchanan (West Green Harbour) and Cousin Molly Smith (Clyde River). They say down there, “what happens in Novee stays in Novee”. Judy’s kindness and generosity has touched many friends and charities along the way. Judy’s strength and positive outlook on life helped carry her through, having only one regret, that she didn’t see as much of the world as she had dreamed and planned of doing. The family thanks Dr. Trollope, Dr. Tozer and the staff at Emmanuel House for their warm compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her remarkable life was held on Sunday, February 24 at Cresmount Funeral Home, 1020 Upper James Street, Hamilton. Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Emmanuel House, 90 Stinson Street, Hamilton.
