The family of Marie sadly announce her peaceful passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital at age 85. Marie was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph (2003), brothers, Kevin (1997) and James (2001), brother-in-law, Walter McShane (2004) and sister-in-law Rita Doyle (nee Gale) in 2012. Marie was also predeceased by her parents Thomas (1937) and Annie (nee O’Reilly) in 1970. Left to mourn are sister, Rita McShane in New Brunswick; brothers: Michael (Eileen) in Corner Brook and Leonard (Kathleen) in St. Andrew’s, NL and sister-in-law, Dorothy Doyle (nee White) in Stephenville. Also mourning are 15 nephews and 13 nieces plus more than 40 nephews and nieces of her husband Joe. She will be very missed by her foster sister, Ruth, Ruth’s daughter Margaret and Margaret’s three children: Arista, Aaron and little girl, Jamie. She was a kind and loving woman who was a devout Church goer and a good friend to many relatives and visitors who regularly visited her lovely home. We sincerely appreciated the care Marie received at the Acadian Village for the last three years and for the last month at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital. We also thank Father O’Quinn for his care and concern given readily to Marie over the recent years in particular. Friends may call at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on Tuesday, March 5th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, March 6th at 1:30 p.m. with Interment in the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville.
