FERRIS, GARY JAMES - It is with sadness we announce the passing of Gary James Ferris of Moncton on Sunday, March 3rd, 2013 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Gary was born July 27th, 1946 in Saint John, NB. He was a devoted family man, a loyal Sears Canada employee retired after 39 years and a community volunteer on advisory boards for the Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Club, Mississauga Community Living, Moncton Employment and Training Services, and his church. Gary is survived by and greatly missed by his mother Stella (Ferris) Redstone of Saint John, his wife Joanne (MacPherson) Ferris of Moncton, his daughter Sheri (John Murphy) of Middle Sackville, NS, sons Mark and Patrick at home. He is also missed by his brother Robert (Wendy), niece Colleen (Marc) Gushue, nephew Adam, all of Ottawa. His in-laws, Jack and Ardith MacPherson, Dan and Nancy MacPherson, Monica and Bob Richard, all of Moncton. Nephew John MacPherson (Christine) of Moncton, Neil MacPherson, (Nicole) of Vancouver and niece Jill MacPherson of Halifax. He is also survived by several cousins in Saint John. Gary was predeceased by father Gerald Ferris, step-father Gordon Redstone, Aunt Hazel Guthrie, all of Saint John.
Visitation will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton, NB on Thursday, March 7th, from 1:30 to 2:00 pm, immediately followed by the funeral service at 2:00 o’clock, Rev. Mary MacPherson officiating. A reception will follow in the Garden View Room. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
