FROST, GRETA J. - Greta J. Frost of Seal Cove Grand Manan Island passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at the Grand Manan Hospital. Born in Seal Cove she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Hilda (Ingersoll) Brown. Greta raised her family, worked at the Connors Bros. factory, later became and a R.N.A. and worked at the Grand Manan Nursing Home until her retirement. During her retirement years she bagged dulse for Gerry and Joanne Flagg for the last 11 years until last autumn at the end of the dulse season here on the Island. She was a member of the Seal Cove Baptist Church, former member of the Grand Manan Curling Club, Grand Manan Museum, most of all she enjoyed making time for a good game of bingo, and especially combing the beaches of Grand Manan for beach glass. She is survived by one daughter Teri Lynn Bainbridge of Seal Cove. Four sons; Vincent (Rocky) Frost (Tina Boudreau) of Moncton, Ricky Frost (Susan Cumming) of Castalia, Farron Frost (Stephanie Fitzsimmons) of Seal Cove, and Evan Frost (Debbie Jones) of Seal Cove. Four sisters; Beulah Ingalls (Howard) of Grand Harbour, Estella Harvey of Seal Cove, Meredith Ingalls (Owen) of Seal Cove, Ellen Bleaumortier (David Hepditch) of North Head. One brother L. Ross Brown (Charlotte) of Seal Cove. Her dear friend and former husband Mendall (Chubby) Frost, and also her very dear friends Darlene Winchester, Gary Denton, Joanne Flagg and family. Seventeen grand children, and five great grand children, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Melvin and Hilda Brown, one sister Irma Middleton, two brother-in-laws; George Middleton, Mansell Harvey, and also one son-in-law Gordon Bainbridge.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Greta on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Seal Cove Baptist Church with a reception to follow and all are welcome to attend.
