It is with immense sadness that our family announces the gentle passing of Michael Brookes, surrounded by love, on March 3rd, 2013 at the age of 61.

Life partner of Margaret Stark (M&M), friend and ex-husband to Darlene Brookes, proud father of Aubin McIlwrath and her husband Liam, Myana Brookes-Gillingham and her husband Autumn, Matthew Brookes and his partner Cindy. Loving grandfather to his favorite fishing team Conor, Shaylah, Derien, Lukus, Hayden, Fyfe, Jorja & Alex. Cherished brother to Nadine Brookes, and Tim Brookes and wife Lorraine. Treasured uncle to Denielle, Eric and Chelsea.

Predeceased by his mother Annis Brookes (1999) and brothers Robert (Bobby) Elliott (1992) and Daniel (Danny) Elliott (2010).

Michael was born in Vernon, B.C. on May 4, 1951.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Celista Community Hall on 5456 Squillax-Anglemont Road, Celista, B.C. on Saturday, March 16th, 2013 at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please bestow donations to the Kelowna Cancer Clinic or Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice House.
