ANDERSON, DOUGLAS - It is with a sad heart, the family wishes to announce the death of Douglas Vernon Anderson, age 74, husband of Valerie (Veinot) Anderson, of Hampton, NB, occurred at his residence, on Sunday, March 10, 2013. He was born on March 18, 1938, in Saint John, NB, the son of the late Howard and Muriel (Lee) Anderson. Doug is survived by his wife Valerie; daughter Karen Meunier and her husband Joe of Saint John, NB; son Blake Anderson and his wife Leanne of Saint John, NB; grandchildren Justin, Dylan, Dougie, Lindsay; great grandchildren Kenlea, Hudson Douglas, Hayden, Jackson; brother Clinton (Skin) Anderson and his wife Edna; his dog Jack; several nieces and nephews that was very special and very much loved. Also Ashley Black, Caleb MacDonald and Peggy McMillan (White Lightening) and many other church family members. He was predeceased by his brothers Clarence (Duke) and Herbert; sister Bernice Carson. Doug worked has a longshoremen on the port of Saint John for 47 years, retiring in 2002. He was a proud member of the International Longshoremen’s Association Local 273. He loved his “lawn mower” and he loved to go fishing. He was always most joyful when agitating everyone around him! Doug loved deeply his Lord Jesus Christ and his faith, carried him through his illness. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him! His memory will be cherished forever in our hearts.
He is resting at Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, with visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral service, conducted by, Pastor Tim MacDonald, will be held from Hampton Baptist Church at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, March 14, 2013. Interment will take place in Christ Church Cemetery, Bloomfield in the spring. Donations in memory of Doug, may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation or to the memorial of the donor’s choice.
