FOSTER, PAUL D. - 1925 - 2013 - The death of Paul DeLancy Foster, of Florenceville, occurred on Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville. Born April 7, 1925 in Woodstock, NB, Paul was the son of the late Talmage and Leslie (Ross) Foster. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, A. Kathleen Foster; three sons, Geoffrey Foster, Kris Foster (Wanda) and Stuart Foster (Trish); five grandchildren, Erin Blaney (Corey), Meredith Graham (Nathanial), Kate, Cameron and Elizabeth Foster; and a great grandson, Kian Blaney. After graduating from Teachers College with a First Class Superior designation, Paul became Principal at Juniper High School at the age of 18. By age 28, he emerged as a leading National Insurance Sales Professional, Branch Manager and founder of his own Insurance Brokerage business, P.D. Foster Insurance. He was the first Insurance Professional in New Brunswick to hold both the CLU and AIIC designations. Operating for over 50 years from his office in the small village of Florenceville, Paul gained the trust and respect of a diverse client base in Atlantic Canada. Paul was a church and community leader, serving as an Elder, Sunday School Superintendent, Rotarian and Mason. For over 60 years, in many capacities, Paul shared his gifts for public speaking, teaching, fund raising, and business management through his involvement in church and community endeavours. Paul will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held from Faith Memorial United Church, Burnham Road, Florenceville, on Monday, March 11, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A masonic tribute service will be held at 6:30 pm. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at 2:00 pm from the church. Rev. Les Johnston will officiate. Interment will be in the Florenceville Community Cemetery at a later date. Donations made to Faith Memorial United Church or to a church or charity of the donor's choice would appreciated. L.R.
