WEIR, DAVID - Our lovely David died peacefully at home on Sunday, March 10, 2013, at the age of 58. Beloved husband of Jacqueline Kennedy. Loving brother of Mary, Dennis (Bonnie), Trish (Don), Joseph (Heather) and Gary (Virginia). Much loved uncle of 12 nieces and nephews. Son of the late Mary A. Weir and the late Francis (Frank). David’s eclectic careers included teaching, law, and government communications. He supported many in volunteer roles: Foster Parent, Big Brother, NB Mental Health Association volunteer; ESL teacher, and supporter of Friends of the Ottawa Public Library. David was also a co-leader for the Ottawa chapter of the Multiple Myeloma Support Group. Special thanks to the Hematology team at the Ottawa General Hospital, the Community Palliative Care Network, Champlain CCAC and many friends for their support over the last six years.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, March 15, 2013 at the First Unitarian Congregation of Ottawa at 30 Cleary Ave. A kind, gentle soul has left us. We thank him for his caring, grace, and unique sense of humour. Rest well, my Love-our hearts will always be knotted.
