Eric Bradford "Zeke" Brown - 83, of Cambridge, Kings County, formerly of New Minas, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kentville, he was a son of the late Lorna Schofield and step-son of the late Wenford Ritchie. He had been employed at Weavexx (Formex) for 30 years. He was a volunteer, manager and coach of local baseball, hockey and football teams. Eric also enjoyed bowling. During retirement, he delivered flowers and prescriptions for Atlantic Superstore. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, the former Joyce North; three daughters, Wanda Butler, Port Williams and her children, Angie and Stephanie; Cheryl (John) Ferguson, New Minas and their children, Pam and Mike; Kim (Harley) Eisner, Coldbrook and their children, Nathan and Aimee; a son, Bradford "Brad", Centreville and his children, Jason, Colin and Evan; eight great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He will also be sadly missed by Jag. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Megan; a son-in-law, Gary Butler; two sisters, Guretta Young and Virginia Twombly. Cremation has taken place. There was no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Doctor Randy Crozsman officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
